RYA
For all things 'On The Water', the RYA is the UK’s national association for all forms of recreational and competitive boating, representing sailing, motorcruising, sportsboats, windsurfing, inland boating, powerboat racing and personal watercraft.
This Agency is responsible throughout the UK for implementing the Government’s maritime safety policy. That includes co-ordinating search and rescue at sea through Her Majesty’s Coastguard, and checking that ships meet UK and international safety rules. We work to prevent the loss of lives at the coast and at sea, to ensure that ships are safe, and to prevent coastal pollution Safer Lives, Safer Ships, Cleaner Seas.

Both Sally and Gordon have chartered yachts in the UK and Med from Sunsail as well as taking time out at Sunsail's beach club holiday resorts. We both return year after year due to our excellent experience of a Company that really looks after its customers.
Gordon works for Sunsail as an RYA Yachtmaster Instructor and is also Skipper on many corporate and high profile corporate and racing events. He delivers, with his colleagues, Sunsail's excellent Flotilla training weekends in preparation for those off on their own yachting holidays. Gordon also instructs the RYA Sail Cruising Scheme to Yachtmaster Offshire level for Sunsail and in 2011, was asked to demosntrate the brand new Robertson and Caines Sunsail 444 Catamaran to prospective buyers.

If you want to get excellent training in the shorebased aspects of sailing, motorboating etc, then from personal experience there is only one RYA shorebased Centre that we would recommend.
As Principle, Karen Dorontic goes that extra step to share her professionalism, skills, knowledge and experience. Her welcoming and supportive approach to this (too often) overlooked aspect of being on the water is second to none and with a purpose equipped traning centre set in the lovely localtion of Emsworth Harbour, this RYA recognised shorebased training centre is definately one that will support your successful learning.
Suzanne is a person that you cannot help but adore (and envy slightly as well). Suzanne was our wedding planner for our marriage in July 2008 in St Vincent and The Grenadines (SVG) and having her home on the island of Bequia, she was perfectly located for organising the very best of everything for us including a wedding on one of the most unspoilt and perfect beach locations, all the paperwork necessary, a minister, cake and a professional photographer.
She even stepped in as witness for us after arranging the most exquisite tropical marriage arch on the golden sand beach by the crystal clear azure waters, and meeting us off our yacht to arrange Sally's bouquet and Gordon's buttoniere.
