Charter Sailing Days and Weekends
Frequently setting out from the South Coast the Solent or the East Coast, (although other locations are possible subject to your individual needs), these are simply great fun and whilst not RYA endorsed training courses, are excellent for any level of experience, building confidence and obtaining ‘Qualifying Passages’ towards your Skipper’s or other RYA qualifications.
When on our charters or races, we usually ensure that that there is some night sailing as well - it all helps the log book get filled in for those aspiring to achieve the coveted RYA qualifications.
Above all we aim to have fun with everyone on board having a go at all aspects of sailing or piloting a yacht or powered watercraft, doing as much or as little as you choose to.
Prices quoted, (see the News and Events page), include all on board food and drinks and Gordon prides himself on the quality (and quantity) of catering - our rule is healthy, nourishing food and plenty of it...!
The price quoted also includes fuel and marina fees so the price you see is the price you pay, (unless otherwise stated).
On our day or weekend charters we welcome singles, (speed boat dating is a real possibility...!), all male or all female groups as well as couples or families and usually the trip can be tailored to those on board - a trip sightseeing around the Solent or a Champagne lunch in Cowes - the home of UK sailing, can all be arranged subject to the weather and sea conditions.
All safety equipment is provided including life jackets etc and every yacht or powerboat used is coded for commercial charter but you will need to bring with you waterproofs (available for hire) plus boots and deck shoes or trainers (preferably with non marking soles).
You will also need a sleeping bag for overnight charters and warm clothing layers - fleeces and thermals are best. Please ask for advice if you’re not sure or see the FAQ's page for a suggested list for a weekend sailing.
Our overriding obligation to you is to keep you and others on board, (as well as the boat), safe - this does mean that on board, the Skipper's decision is always final.
Charter a Skipper
If you own your own boat or wish to charter a boat but have no Skipper, then we can provide an
RYA / MCA Yachtmaster Cruising Instructor as Skipper to help develop your skills in a safe and controlled way as well as sharing with you the workload if sailing for example, with inexperienced crew.
We can also help you to become familiar with some of the local ports and harbours on the Solent or the East Coast, show you some of the nicest anchorages as well as share with you some tips and tricks to make your time afloat safe and enjoyable and get the best from your boat.
