Established in 2006, ~ OnWaterTraining.co.uk ~ is owned and managed by
Gordon J Pownall and Sally Pownall.

We offer a range of services to yachtsmen and yachtswomen, sailors and watercraft owners across the UK and Europe and specialise in :-

We pride ourselves in providing a first class service to our clients and take care of your watercraft as if it were our own, be it a 50 foot sailing yacht being delivered from Rhodes to Athens or a new RIB being taken to the Hamble.

For those we host on our yacht charters, racing weekends, team building programmes and on water experiences, you are guaranteed an exciting and enjoyable time remembering that our motto is 'safety and fun'. 

Our greatest pleasure is introducing those who have never been on the water before to a taste of life 'on board' - something we both have grown to love and cherish over the years we have been sailing and boating.

~ OnWaterTraining.co.uk ~  is not an recognised RYA training centre however as a commercially endorsed RYA Yachtmaster and Cruising Instructor (Sail) as well as a RYA Powerboat Instructor, Gordon remains available as an Instructor to deliver the RYA Sail Cruising Scheme or RYA Powerboat Scheme on a freelance basis only at recognised RYA centres.

As an RYA / MCA Commercially Endorsed Yachtmaster, Gordon is also available as a Skipper for cruises (power and sail) and yacht deliveries etc - rates are very negotiable.

RYA Training Courses - 2009 Programme

~ OnWaterTraining.co.uk ~ continues to enjoy a great partnership with Solent Sail. 

As an approved RYA training centre Solent Sail offers the full range of RYA practical courses.  Traditionally these courses take place over 5 days from Sunday evening until Friday afternoon, but they know it is difficult to justify using a week of your holiday for a sailing course so they have pioneered the weekend option whereby courses take place over 2½ weekends including one Friday or Monday or even over three weekends.

Their instructors, of which Gordon is one, are chosen for their extensive sailing experience on a range of yachts, their second to none teaching ability and their inter-personal skills and they encourage your feedback to ensure that the high standards are maintained. 

Only using high quality yachts, each is loaded with the sort of extra equipment that you want to use when you are chartering.   The onboard equipment and supplies include good quality food throughout the course or weekend and plenty of it!
